A taste of Amalfi Coast

DESCRIPTION:

This path was the connection way between the town of Maiori and Minori when the main road was not yet built.

​

People living here use to cultivate lemons since ages. The economy was strongly based on lemon production.

​

The lemons were taken here and brought to the port of Maiori to be shipped abroad.

​

Still now you can meet donkeys carrying lemons along the path. Time seems still here. This gives you a strong feelling to jump in the past, as life goes on like it went before.

​

The colours are vibrant and in contrast, the air smells of lemons and a quite atmosphere will bring us to know about lifestile and local culture.

​

ITINERARY:

We meet in the town of Minori where, depending on the time of the day, we can have a dessert in on eof the most famous pastry shop of the Amalfi coast. We can then go and visit the ruins of a roman maritime villa.

​

We start hour walk from the centre of Minori and following the mountain side we walk along lemon terraces.

​

The firts part of the walk is made by steps uphill but we can stop now and then to enjoy the great view of the coast and talk about the lemon production.

​

Once arrived in the town of Maiori, we can go and visit the church of Santa Maria a Mare.

​

Difficulty level: the path is all paved with about 300 regular steps( first part uphill, second downhill)
