A taste of Amalfi Coast

DESCRIPTION:

A day spent in Paestum to visit the best preserved greek temples in Italy and to taste the buffalo mozzarella produced in an organic farm.

This tour leads you in a not very touristic area despite the importance of the greek temples. We are further south of Salerno, at about 50 km. This area is very rich in term of history and culture. In fact it was a greek colony to became later a roman one.

In the archeological area you can admire three temples in a great state of conservation, such as a part of the roman town. In the museum they preserved many parts of the temples, jewels, ceramic pots and the the very famous "Diver's tomb". Some multimedia will give you explanation about the way of making the temples and the tomb decorations.

The second part of this tour is dedicated to the visit of an organic mozzarella factory.
This area is specialized in this kind of production. We visit the farm and we taste the mozzarella in the best farm. They also produce yogurt, ice creams and pudding with buffalo milk.

ITINERARY:

WWe meet in Salerno and, in one hour, by a private car we reach the archeological site of Paestum .

I will introduce you to the history of the greek colony and I will let you visiting the archeological site and the museum by your own. Usually it takes 2 hours.

After this visit we go at the mozzarella factory located at 10 minutes far. We have a guide who will lead us discovering the secrets of buffalo mozzarella and, of course, he will offer us a tasting of it.

We can visit the place where they make mozzarella, following the process and seeing people working. We also see the buffalos, how they are treated with special systems to give them wellness.
In this factory they also produce yogurt, puddings, ice cream, chocolate and bread.

There is also a leather goods shop.

At the end of our visits we come back to Salerno by private car.
